When you hear dry-aged beef, you probably think expensive steakhouse serving expensive steaks? Nope! How about a little south Minneapolis neighborhood restaurant, and it’s not a dry-aged steak, but a dry-aged burger! Who does that!
Dry aged = richer beef flavor & more tender, buttery texture. Usually, dry-aged for 30 days. Xavi bumps that up to 72 days for even more flavor and tenderness.
The beef flavor was incredible and it was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. Their house made “beer cheese soup cheese” was as good as it sounds and gave this burger a one/two punch most don’t have.
I loved the grilled onions, picking up a lot of flavor from their well seasoned flattop grill. The house made dill pickles were just great. The bun, nicely toasted, completes this delicious creation.
This is a great burger! This was a great burger experience!
Here’s what you need to know. The Beer Cheese Burger will be part of their new Sunday Brunch Menu starting on March 18th. The 72 day dry-aged beef was a one time thing and won’t be part of the brunch burger, but I’m sure it will be delicious as well and I certainly want to stop in for Brunch down the road and try it.
They just might decide to do another special burger night with the dry-aged beef, so keep an eye out. They will give you a few days notice.
