Burgers of all kinds should be celebrated. From the simple, meat, cheese and bun, to burgers with lettuce, tomatoes and onions, to the outside the box burgers, topped with mac & cheese, pulled pork or maybe corned beef and sauerkraut. This burger is going to take you to a whole new place, and you are going to love it!
Multiple spices, which includes Wendy’s SOULseasoning, are mixed in with the beef. The two 1/4 pound patties are formed Juicy Lucy style and filled with American, pepper jack and Swiss cheeses, along with chopped onions and green peppers. The beef is par-cooked, turkey bacon and more cheeses get added. Why is the beef par-cooked? Because the beef patties are not going into a soft, lightly toasted bun. They will go into in a gluten-free wrap and then deep-fried! We are now outside the burger box.
I’ve described it, but did I like it? Nope. I Loved it! It’s cut in half, so right away you see the onions and peppers bathing in all that cheese, just waiting to burst out at first bite. The wrap gives you some crunch. The delicious cheese oozes out covering your tongue with deliciousness. The onions and peppers are still a little crunchy. The beef, yes, it’s deep fried, is still juicy and so flavorful with all of those spices telling you, “we’re here!”. Now the cheese is dripping off my fingers, but it’s so awesome. I enjoyed the heck out of this unique burger!
Let me say this to any purists who believe a burger has to have a traditional bun and be cooked on a grill or in a pan. “Mogul Burger, if loving you is wrong, I don’t wanna be right!”. I know you’re familiar with Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, but there’s another Wendy who has created a burger unlike any burger you’ve had before. I feel this, not only in my Heart, but in my Soul.
SOULROLLS – NANNY – Fantastic!
SOULfries – Very good. The seasoning is delicious.
Wendy’s House of Soul is located inside the K’s Grocery & Deli store in case you miss her sign. They are closed Sundays and Mondays.
