We all love a feel good story. I know I do. When I heard this story, I canceled the burger plans I had and headed over to @twomixedupmn .
Two neighbors, EJ and Sophie, becoming business partners with their families support. EJ cooks and Sophie bakes. It started out of their kitchens, expanded to a Food Truck, and a stop at the B-Dale Club in Roseville. Now they’ve got a spot at the very cool, Graze in The North Loop.
I’ll let @tcfooddude tell you about all of the fantastic non-burger menu items. I’m here to talk about the Just A Burger Smashburger.
EJ didn’t have a name for the burger, he said it was just a burger. Well, he could have called it, A Damn Good Burger. The patties are 3 1/2 oz., which I think are just about the optimal size for a double smashburger. The 80/20 ground beef gets a great char and is juicy. White American cheese is always a great choice and is melted nicely. A good amount of their delicious TMU house sauce, which includes mayo, ketchup and mustard, gets swiped on the soft, nicely toasted bun. This burger comes with lettuce, tomato and raw onion, but I asked if I could get grilled onions instead. EJ will gladly put raw or grilled onions on your burger. I did get it without lettuce or tomato. I do like my smashburgers without them.
This is a very good smashburger. It’s definitely worth a visit. There are two other smashburgers on the menu as well.
