The last leg of our TCBN, St. Croix River Burger Tour with @shawnsrodgers, @phatphood & our special guest @pocket_ful.  We are in beautiful Bayport, Minnesota, just 5 minutes south of Stillwater.

Chef Lundmark and The Wilder’s IG feeds totally reeled me in a while ago with their great looking food and incredible Burger of the Week shots.  I’ve really been wanting to get out here for quite some time.  We got to talk with Chef for a while and you can just tell he loves what he’s doing and is passionate about his food.  I was feelin’ the love after Chef whipped up a few items off his new menu.  It certainly included a very good burger.

The Standard Burger with beef from @reviercattle was cooked just the way I liked, juicy enough and seasoned enough for me.  There is a ton of beautifully melted American style cheese on top.  You will notice the prominent flavor of the scratch made mustard when you take the first bite.  It is good.  Below the patty there is fresh lettuce, some red onion and an oven roasted tomato.  That tomato was a nice change.  There is also some house made ketchup on here.  You get a few thinly sliced pickles, which were really good.  There are a lot of flavors hitting you.  You have the option to add bacon confit.  Exercise your option to get this bacon confit!  Confit means to cook in its own fat.  Do I need to say anymore?  It is fantastic!  You get two thick slices of this flavorful, melt in your mouth meat.  As always, you can try the burger with or without the bacon as I did.  I took a slice off and enjoyed it by itself.  Oh, it’s Nueskes award winning bacon.  I love @nueskes!  The bun, from Bayport’s own @breadartmn is not like anything you are going to see around here very often.  I believe it’s a beer cheese bun.  Its unique, lightly toasted and good.

This is a really good burger!

It definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and for sure if you visit Stillwater frequently.  Don’t miss posts from Phat, Shawn & Jan.  Thank you, Emily for taking great care of us.

French Fries – Very good!
