I’m back up in the Bold North side of the Twin Cities metro area. Burgers and beer don’t get much better than at The Tipsy Steer, which is inside Invictus Brewing Company. Do you come for the great beer selection or for the great food menu? Fortunately, either answer is correct.
One thing we have learned recently is that The Tipsy Steer will be opening up a second location in Minneapolis, across from Minnehaha Park. For those of you who haven’t made the trek up to Blaine, this is great news. I’ve loved everything I’ve had there and I’ve only scratched the surface of their menu.
This was my second trip to The Tipsy Steer and the second time having the Bacon Jam Burger. I just couldn’t bring myself to try a different burger when I enjoyed this one so much the first time.
Two beef patties from Revier Cattle Company, juicy, cooked to a medium temp and charred nicely. This burger is correctly named since the incredibly delicious, sweet & savory bacon onion jam takes it to another level. You get it on top of both patties. Brie cheese, buttery and creamy is a great choice. Chives are sprinkled on the top and bottom buns. A tasty charred jalapeño aioli is swiped on the bottom bun. You also get a few sliced pickles on the side. The bun is soft and perfectly toasted.
It’s definitely worth the drive north. I will certainly let you know when they give us an opening date for their Minneapolis location.
