This weeks #TCBN takes us to the historic St. Paul Hotel in downtown St. Paul.  Located inside this beautiful hotel is the iconic St. Paul Grill.  @phatphood & @shawnsrodgers are joining me as usual.  I’ve been here for many special events over the years as I’m sure many of you have as well.  It’s a special place.  Most of the time though, I’ve been in the bar area for their great Happy Hours.  If your like me, it’s all about their creamy, delicious Mac and Cheese and their fantastic Chicken Pot Pie, but as you may have guessed, tonight is about the Burgers.  Ok, the Mac and Cheese and the Chicken Pot Pie as well. 😉

The first thing you will notice is that the burger is not very tall.  It’s a very wide and low burger, which is certainly not a bad thing.  It definitely has some size to it though.  The other thing I noticed when I picked it up is that it had a soft feel to it.

The special blend of beef hit my temp, was juicy and had good flavor.  The Tillamook cheddar cheese that thickly blanketed the patty had good flavor as well.  The sweet, sticky bourbon glaze was fantastic.  The Makers Mark Steak Sauce perks things up nicely.  The bun was super soft and had a nice toast to it.  They do know a few things about making a great burger as they list one @tcburgerbattle win on their website, but I’m pretty sure they have won it twice.  It’s a really good burger!

I’d like to thank our server Mickey, @mickeybloss who is wickedly funny and took such great care of us.  She’s awesome!  Thank you, Chef Frazer for sending out such delicious food.  And Ryan Stanzel for putting everything together.  This was a first rate experience!
