It’s coming up on 5 years since my first post on www.tcburgerblog.com.  I’ve been thinking of revisiting a few of the places and burgers I first talked about.  The @sample_room’s Bottineau Burger was one of the first burgers I reviewed.  I loved it then and I love it now!

The burger is named after the Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood it’s located in, right by the Mississippi River.  The building has been around since the turn of the century.

The 6.5 oz. Peterson Craft Meats beef patty was cooked to my temp, charred, juicy and has that soft texture feel to it.  Their choice is cheddar.  It’s thick and melted nicely.  The attention grabber here is a thick slice of pork belly placed on top.  It’s of the melt in your mouth variety.  It’s a great add-on to say the least.

The onions are called brandied onions.  Thin slices of red onions from DragSmith Farms that are marinated in a light amount of brandy and mustard seeds.  Tasty they are.  You want aioli?  You’ve got a lot of it.  Their aioli is made with smoked tomatoes and smoked paprika.  It’s delicious.  You get a few thin sliced pickles on the side.  Don’t forget them.  The bun is very nice.  Soft and the perfect light toast.  I know you’ll want to pull that pork belly off and savor it by itself, at least I did, but take a few bites first, then all bets are off.

Beer Battered Ellsworth Cheese Curds – Delicious!  Their thin batter might have the best little crunch I’ve had from a cheese curd.  Curd lovers, let me know.
