@tcfooddude highlighted this place 2 months ago, telling us about a very good Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Nashville Hot Chicken Strips coming out of the kitchen at @firstdraftmpls.  I’m taking the lead on this one, because if you thought @getpluckd’s chicken sandwiches and strips were good, wait until you have their burger.

You know the saying, “what’s old is new again”. This burger was a popular staple item of the original First Draft concept.  That’s the old, what’s the new?  The quality of the ingredients.  It’s what makes a good burger, great!

The two 1/4 pound patties get smashed beautifully resulting in that great char.  The patties are thick enough so you still get some actual beef flavor and juiciness.  A few places do smash them too thin so all you get is char.  The cheeses they use are American and a delicious beer-cheese sauce made with New Belgium Fat Tire Beer.  They don’t skimp on the beer-cheese.  You also get a nice amount of their fantastic Pluck’d Sauce.  It’s topped with a few dill pickle slices and you get some greens below the patty.  The bun has a buttery, light and airy feel to it and it’s lightly toasted.  It’s a great bun.

I was told that this past weekend was a test for this burger.  I think they Aced the test!  It’s a fantastic smashburger!

My only question to you?  Beef or Chicken?  It won’t be an easy choice!
