It’s another #tcburgernight with @shawnsrodgers & @phatphood finding out “Are the Greats Still Great”, but there is another very good reason we are here.

Chris Ikeda, @goforbroke.ikeda of @lake_irving fame, opened a new Hawaiian restaurant in Savage a few months ago and he brought a couple of his burgers with him, including the Luxe Burger. Ok, so nothing screams out Hawaiian about the Luxe Burger, but I’m willing to look the other way, while I devour this masterpiece.

How do I describe this burger experience? Pleasing to the palette would be how I would describe it. There is just something different about this one. The flavors are elite. This is gourmet in burger form.

Two 3 1/2 ounce, short rib & chuck blend of @patlafrieda beef patties, juicy and seasoned well with truffle salt. White American cheese, beautifully melted, blankets both patties. Now here is where the flavor bomb hits you: black summer truffles give you a little garlic taste. Decadent, foie gras butter, is rich, fatty and buttery. They call their sauce, special sauce. It has kewpie mayo, Dijon, ketchup and shallots. It’s delicious. The truffles, foie gras butter and their special sauce along with the white American cheese, and the fantastic beef blend, will make your taste buds dance. You also get a few colorful, tasty bread & butter pickles.

The brioche bun from Mainstreet Bakery gets a great toast and a little toast on the top bun as well. It is on the edge of my toast limit, but no issues. The beef patties don’t get to the edges of the bun, but I didn’t have any issues with that either. This is still a Top 10 burger!

There are many traditional Hawaiian dishes on the menu. @tcfooddude will take you through a few of those and definitely highlight their amazing wood-fired pizza. Stay tuned.

As always, check out Shawn and Phat’s need to know info…
