When was your last visit to a Supper Club? Was it out in the boonies? Did it have wood paneling and Tiffany lamps as part of the decor? Were you there for the prime rib? Things have certainly changed a little bit in Edina.
The decor is modern, but the feeling that you might want to stay a while is the same. It’s party time at this Supper Club! @cheftommybegnaud’s affection for New Orleans, gives his menu a Cajun vibe, along with many of your favorites items like steaks, seafood & pasta.
𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘽𝙐𝙍𝙂𝙀𝙍 – 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙮, 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙, 𝙛𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙚, 𝘼𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚, 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨
The Burger doesn’t break any new ground. This is your classic double smashburger. It’s classic and it’s done beautifully! The beef grind is extensive. Executive Sous Chef @turbolyng tells me “the grind is any and all scraps from the steaks we butcher/portion in house, sirloin, ribeye, filet and strip, with chuck blended in to beef it up.” Did you get all that? You will after that first bite.
The two 3oz. patties have great char, are seasoned pretty well and had some juiciness to them. For whatever reason, I wanted a little more beef to even the ratio of beef to bun, maybe another ounce, even though 3oz. patties are a common size used for double smashburgers.
Nicely melted American cheese is no surprise. Delicious, thin sliced, house made icebox pickles sit on top and are plentiful. You want some sauce like I do? You’ll get a lot of their fantastic fancy sauce. The bun is perfect. Soft, airy, beautifully toasted, and it will feel great as you’re holding it, and not so great when it’s gone.
This is a fantastic double smashburger!
Wishlist: I would love to see a Cajun style burger added to the menu. Kick things up a notch. Get my taste buds dancin’. 🥵
