I asked myself, where should I take my coworkers for our next Burger Lunch? I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’m thinking a Seafood & Steak place.
While steak & seafood dishes may be the best items on their menu, with their access to high quality beef, I was hopeful they brought that same beef to their burger. Kobe beef from the Kobe region of Japan is considered the best in the world. It’s known for it’s perfect marbling and buttery, melt in your mouth texture. You are more than likely not going to find pure Kobe beef in the U. S. although a few restaurants across the country do have it. When you see American Kobe Style Beef, it’s basically telling you it’s from a producer that has crossbred Kobe beef with a more popular American breed of cattle like Angus or Holstein. While the marbling is not nearly what you would get in pure Kobe beef, it is usually a higher quality of beef.
Let’s get to the burger. I thought the beef was buttery soft and did have melt in your mouth qualities. I would have liked more seasoning, but the flavor was great and it was cooked to the perfect temp. The sweet, buttery, creamy Fontina cheese is very satisfying and melted perfectly. There are a few sautéed red onions on top and some roasted mushrooms as well. There are also a couple slices of house made pickles, which I wasn’t sure if they were a garnish or not. Certainly a unique taste to them. Below the patty are a couple of sliced tomatoes, a leaf of lettuce and some pretty good, but not overly flavorful red onion aioli. The Main Street Bakery bun was nicely toasted and perfect. You will pay a little more for the beef, but it is worth it. I liked this burger.
All of their burgers are available on the lunch menu. This burger is also available on their dinner menu, and a couple of their other burgers are also available on their Happy Hour menu.
French Fries – Very good!
