If you are heading to CHS Field for the July 4th movie and fireworks or just going to be in Lowertown, stop in at Kelly’s Depot Bar. It’s a friendly local bar that’s been around a long time. They do bar food and they do it well.
I was looking forward to trying this burger since I read Eater Twin Cities website’s review of the burger. The review stated it was “an unpretentious, humbly perfect burger”. At first I thought “hey, you can’t call a burger Perfect unless you’re at Victory 44”, but after reading it again, I would agree with their statement, they are not trying to be anything they are not.
This burger is a perfect match for Kelly’s Depot Bar. It’s a good, greasy bar burger. Juicy beef, good melted cheese, pickles, grilled onions, bacon on a toasty bun, although a little too toasted for me. You don’t see the cheese slice put over the bacon and onions very often, but why not! Keep your expectations in check and visit Kelly’s Depot Bar.
Crinkle Cut Fries – Pretty good.
