My first JL Beers experience was a few years ago when a co-worker took me to the one up in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We sat at the bar and I remember watching them take a potato and make my fresh-cut fries right in front of me. Pretty cool. Then my JL Burger came out loaded with cheese and onions and looking really good. It was. I just thought to myself, I really like this place.
Having a Twin Cities Burger Night here is pretty special. Spending the night with @shawnsrodgers , @phatphood and Kerri from @smallcakesmn is even more special.
I was super excited when I heard they were opening a restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis, and even more excited when they opened one in Burnsville, close to where I live and work. It’s a pretty simple concept, great beers and great burgers. In the day of the $15 burger, how about half that or less for any burger on their menu? Sold! Their beef is grilled on a flattop grill press. This sears both the bottom and the top of the patty at the same time, getting your burger to you much quicker.
My goto burger is the JL Burger and I always add bacon. I was thinking, what about adding a third patty? Everyone from the restaurant was on board and totally wanted to make an awesome, one night only burger for us. The JL Triple Bacon Cheeseburger! Three fresh Midwestern beef patties, these are only cooked one temp, but they are juicy and flavorful. Three slices of American cheese is what I want. Plenty of beautifully grilled onions and perfectly cooked bacon, finished off with their tasty special sauce that just might drip off your burger. This burger is totally my jam! I would love this on every menu. This might be a one night only burger, but with a menu that is add and change friendly, you can make this exact burger any time you like.
