Being an 80’s Rocker at heart, I couldn’t wait for my visit to the Heavy Metal Grill. They have an extensive burger menu paying tribute to such bands as KISS, Metallica, Whitesnake, Skid Row, Iron Maiden and many more. The burger that caught my eye was one of my favorite Motley Crue songs, titled “Kickstart My Heart”. This song kicks butt, and let me tell you, this burger kicks butt!
The first thing I noticed after a couple of bites was how well the beef was seasoned. It is OK to season beef. It had a great salty taste to it. Not overly salty, but just right. Unfortunately, too many restaurants forget about seasoning food, especially beef. These guys nailed it! The beef, which was two pretty large patties, was juicy and absolutely delicious. I loved what they did with the bacon. It’s chopped up instead of slices. They give you a lot of bacon on this burger and it’s really good. They also have diced onions, which I like as well. I had them grilled.
There are 3 different kinds of cheese, American, Provolone and Mozzarella. It worked. It has shredded lettuce, which was even better when the beef juices were released after a bite or two. Finally, it was topped off with an over easy egg. I thought the bun was really good as well. It was lightly toasted and soft. This burger became quite a mess after a while, but that’s half the fun.
The Heavy Metal Grill advertises, “Food That Rocks!”. All I know is that the Kickstart My Heart Burger totally Rocks! I loved this burger!
