You may have heard of Tillamook cheese, but you may not know much about it.  Tillamook is located on the Oregon Coast.  There is a Tillamook State Forest, a Tillamook Bay and most important to my story, the Tillamook Creamery.  It’s a must see if you are out West.  You can watch them make and package cheese and taste some fantastic cheese centric food.

@tillamook is making their cheese available across the country, including the State of Minnesota.  They kicked off the Melty Fest Tour, #MeltyFest last night.  They are collaborating with @chefjustinsutherland of @handsome_hog and he created some fantastic dishes featuring different Tillamook cheeses including Tillamook Mac and Cheese, Potato Bacon & Cheese Croquettes and my personal favorite, the signature Justin Sutherland Pimento Cheese Juicy Lucy featuring his house made pimento cheese, which includes Tillamook Sharp Cheddar.

These were served in slider fashion, and if you can impress me with a slider, your regular sized burger is usually pretty fantastic.  This slider was nearly perfect, that’s why I have to tell you about it.  Chef’s special grind of beef was juicy, pink and flavorful.  The pimento cheese inside and beneath the patty was plentiful, melted well and delicious.  BBQ mustard is swiped on the nice slider sized, Mainstreet Bakery bun.

There are two more things that factor into this kick-ass Juicy Lucy.  Incredible bourbon onions add a smokey and sweet flavor and some of the best b & b pickles I’ve ever had.  I can tell you one thing, I’m going to ask Chef Sutherland to bring this to the @tcburgerbattle next year.  It would be a serious contender!  I know @phatphood was impressed!

As luck would have it, the full size version of this Pimento Cheese Juicy Lucy will be available on the Handsome Hog menu from August 12th thru August 18th.  I would love to see as many people as possible get out there and have this fantastic Burger!  Tag me, of course!
