A word that we’ve heard a lot in 2020 is Pivot.  Restaurants forced to try and survive without patrons inside their establishments and then at 50% capacity and then closed inside again.  Restaurants have reinvented the way they do business in order to survive.  One of the latest pivots is Drive-thru.  How is that possible you ask?  It’s not for most places, but for Dan’s Bar & Grill, it’s the latest way to try and keep the doors open and the lights on!

I’m continually amazed at the creativity and innovativeness of our restaurant community.  How about using your parking lot as a drive-thru.  Pull in, follow the cones to a little booth, place your order with their friendly order taker off of their condensed menu, created for a speedy experience, pull up in line to the side of the restaurant and wait for your food, made fresh right after your order.  It’s piping hot!  When I saw @dansbarnewtrier was doing this, I had to give it a shot.  My experience was great!  The line was short at the time and I did not have to wait but a few minutes for my order.  Where was I going to eat in the tiny town of new Trier?  Well, three miles away at a little park & ride at the northwest corner of Hwy 52 and Hwy 50 was my answer.  My food was still  warm and delicious!

The Scooter Burger is just a darn good burger.  You can get it in a single or my choice, the double.  The beef is juicy and the bacon was cooked perfectly.  What else but American cheese, melted nicely.  Thin sliced red onions, pickles, shredded lettuce and some very delicious special sauce on a soft, toasted bun.  This hit my sweet spot.  I enjoyed the burger a lot.

They have a video of the drive-thru experience on their instagram page and on their website.  I love it!

If you have your next food visit planned already, do a pivot and head down to Dan’s Bar & Grill for your next Drive-thru experience and support local!
