I recently made a pilgrimage to Ellsworth, Wisconsin to check off something on my bucket list, which was to have Ellsworth Cheese Curds in the town of Ellsworth.  I stopped at the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery for what are called plain, or squeaky cheese curds.  Next, I needed some deep-fried cheese curds, which are super popular in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  I decided to visit Common Man Brewing.  Their Deep-Fried Ellsworth Cheese Curds were delicious.  But, as you might have guessed, there was a burger involved.  A very good burger.

The 1/3 pound patty was cooked exactly to my temp.  It was juicy and seasoned pretty well.  Their brown butter onion jam had a unique, but good flavor to it.  There was plenty of creamy, nutty, melted Gouda cheese topping the patty.  On the bottom bun was a generous amount of their delicious garlic aioli with some peppery arugula bathing in it.  The bun was a little flaky on top and the top bun looks like it’s cut way too thick, but I thought it was just fine while I was devouring it.  I would recommend Common Man Brewing and their Gouda Burger.  I enjoyed my visit.
