Travel Post: This is the last post from my most recent Atlanta visit.
You may or may not be a fan of Ludicris’ music or acting, but you will be a fan of his cheeseburger!
Chicken + Beer – Atlanta / IPA Double Cheeseburger
Atlanta Rapper & Actor, Ludacris, named this restaurant after his third album. The menu is Southern, but the burger would be a star in any part of the country.
It’s an impressive looking creation. Two thick beef patties are a mix of chuck and short rib, charred and juicy. You will be drawn to the cheese. It dominates the picture. There is a slice of American cheese on the bottom patty, but then there is this thick mornay sauce type cheese they call “hoppy cheese” poured over the top. It’s made with their SweetWater “Hash Session” IPA Beer. It’s got a little grainy feel to it, and it’s very good.
Delicious smoked bacon is put on the bottom, caramelized onions are added. A couple of thick pickles put on top to finish it. The bun is soft, buttery and toasty.
Chicken + Beer is located in Concourse D at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. You’ll be glad you had a long layover so you can fully enjoy this burger or use it as an incentive to get there early! 😊
