Chef Al has had some very creative Burgers of the Month over the last few years, but his December BOM, takes you way outside the burger box.

At first glance, you might think it’s Al’s Cod Sandwich. Beer crusted, deep fried Cod with lettuce and tartar sauce. Things aren’t always as they appear.

That’s not Cod. It’s Al’s half pound, grilled, well seasoned beef patty, beer breaded and deep fried. It’s crunchy, juicy and cheesy. But, it says, Craft House Lucy. The Lucy part is a little backwards. There is no cheese inside the patty. The cheese is on top of the patty and below the patty. It’s all around it. A total of 4 slices of cheese. The beef patty is inside the cheese. Then it gets breaded and deep fried and served on a bed of shredded lettuce. The @dennysbakery bun is nicely toasted.

The last piece of this cod sandwich, uh, I mean burger, is a tasty, tartar sauce like, Dijon remoulade. But Al is not serving it on top of the patty. He’s serving it on the side. He tells me quite a few people are eating the burger with a fork and dipping it in the Dijon remoulade. It’s your choice.

It truly is a burger creation you won’t find anywhere else.
