Rockin’ The Burger Hour with @phatphood tonight in Apple Valley. I’ve had mixed feelings about restaurants doing Burgers of the Month. The issue is those burgers are available for a month and then gone. Since building my relationship with Celts Craft House, I’ve come to realize it can be a really good thing. It’s so much fun to see the creativity Chef Al possesses and the pride and excitement he shows talking about and having us dominate these burgers. He starts with an idea and then brings it to life and then to my plate.
This burger is unique, impressive and tastes fantastic! There is a lot to talk about. The beef, as always is a blend of chuck and short rib. It was juicy, cooked perfectly and was seasoned the way a burger should be. Ladies and gentlemen, can I introduce you to putting salt on your beef? It’s not a new concept, but it seems like more and more restaurants have forgotten how to do it.
The cast of characters starts with cherries flambeed in bourbon. I’ve never seen these on a burger. Tart cherries, getting drunk in bourbon and then lit on fire. The cheese you see is Brie. Have you ever seen this much creamy, buttery Brie cheese on a burger? I have not. Incredible!
The lead character just might be the House-made bacon jam. It’s the first thing that introduced itself to me. This sweet, salty, savory, bacony spread is fantastic. It’s a slow process for the Chef to make, but so worth it for us. Thank you! The pub bun, soft, perfectly toasted, is great. Denny’s Fifth Avenue Bakery delivers a good one.
The components to this burger are all great on their own, but when you put them all together, it is something truly special and delicious. I loved this burger!
