After visiting a couple patios in the last 2 weeks, tonight we ventured inside to check out and support my favorite local hangout.

We all need to do what we feel is safe for ourselves and our families.  Tonight, we dined inside.  We hand sanitized before we went in, all of the servers wore masks, all of the tables and the available bar stools were at least 6 feet apart.  We enjoyed our meal and hand sanitized when we were finished.  There were other safety precautions.  We felt safe.  These businesses need our help and support.  Do what is comfortable for you.

Al has brought back his Burger of the Month after a two month shutdown break.  They had a “create a burger” contest before the shutdown and Barbara Bear was the winner.  You could call this a green olive burger after you taste it.  A blend of cream cheese and sour cream, with green olives, green onions and bits of bacon mixed in, is thickly spread over the 1/2 pound, nicely seasoned and charred, medium temped, brisket, chuck & short rib beef patty.  Two more strips of bacon are crossed on top of the delicious spread.  The Dennys Fifth Ave. Bakery bun satisfies.

I love green olives.  I use them a lot on burgers and pizza.  The flavor of this spread is unique and delightful.  The beef patty was juicy.  The bun, soft and lightly toasted.

After a two month absence, it’s nice to have Chef Al’s BOM back!
