I love finding good burgers in places you would never think would have them. Put this in the pleasantly surprised category.
I was in the northern suburbs and saw the city of Maplewood sign. I then remembered that a place from there had followed me a couple of weeks ago. I pulled over and saw that it was Blueprint Burgers located in the Maplewood Mall food court. I thought “what the heck”.
I’m glad I stopped in! You can build your own burger and that’s exactly what I wanted to do. My go to build is usually a bacon cheeseburger. This was no exception. I selected the 1/4 patty, which was very solid. Next was American cheese, which was melted beautifully. Bacon was next and it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I love to add fried onions, and they nailed them. Absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I added pickles, then I tried what they call House Special sauce. This stuff is liquid gold. I promptly slathered a generous amount on the top bun. The bun was toasted and soft.
If you are anywhere close to Maplewood, stop in and find this place. I think it’s a hidden burger gem. It seems like a simple burger, but it really packs a punch. I really like this burger!
