With 2020 coming to an end,  I’ve been asked if there are any new burgers out there to finish off the year.  I said, yeah, there’s a place in Minneapolis on Lyndale and 22nd.  They said, all I see is an Ice Cream Shop.  I said, did you expect something else?

We all love a good local Ice Cream/Malt Shop, but we don’t expect to be able to order a burger to enjoy with that ice cream.  Owners Ben & Gabriella just might have changed that expectation.  There’s no denying there is a buzz around this burger and certainly their ice cream as well.  Ben knows ice cream from his time at Milkjam Creamery, but if your question is, does Ben know burgers?  I’m gonna go with Yes!

This is a burger that has a Diner feel to it, but with some unexpected extras.  The brisket, bacon patties are smashed very thin on a hot flattop and have that super char that people love.  Tons of American cheese melted perfectly.  It’s a soft, sweet, buttery toasted bun.

The last two components are the delicious surprises placed under the patties.  The pickles and the onions pickled with them are fantastic!  They are a real treat.  Their special sauce swiped on the bottom bun is super tasty and from what I hear, has a little Cry Baby Craig’s hot sauce in it.  Don’t worry, it’s not hot.  There is also a perfectly sized leaf of lettuce on the bottom bun.  These burgers are super affordable.  The single is $5.95 and the double is $7.95.

It’s a delicious burger!  I’m guessing some people are going to refer to this burger as the Ice Cream Shop Burger and they are not wrong.  Now, as far as availability.  Right now they have been offering the Bebe Burger on Saturdays and Sundays from Noon to 6:00 or 7:00pm or until they run out.

You will need to check their Instagram or facebook pages to know for sure if it’s going to be available.  Yes, it is December and Yes, only a few people will be let inside at a time, so Yes, you will be standing outside for a while.  There is a coffee shop next door that might have something to keep you warm.
