I think about all things burgers frequently. Surprised? I’m always trying to come up with different types of burgers that could make their way onto menus across the Twin Cities. I’d been thinking about a breakfast type burger that would satisfy my desire to pour syrup all over it. That’s when I got the call from Acadia!
I’ll be honest. I’d never heard of @acadiampls before Amanda reached out to me and asked if I would stop in and try one of Chef Drea’s burgers. When I took a quick look at her menu, I knew exactly why I had been contacted.
Burger minds think alike!
French Toast Burger – classic 6 oz. beef patty topped with caramelized onion, gruyere cheese, bacon & maple syrup. Served on a toasted egg-washed bun with a side of maple syrup.
The beef patty was seasoned well and was pretty juicy. Rich and creamy gruyere cheese tops the patty. Tasty caramelized onions that are nicely cooked and some bacon are added to this breakfast mix. Now, the French Toast part. The very light and airy bun gets an egg wash and is toasted on the grill. It also gets a little powdered sugar sprinkled on top.
Last, but not least, we need maple syrup on our French Toast. They don’t go crazy on the syrup, but I do. I eat my French Toast in a pool of maple syrup, so what do I do with a side of it? Lift up that bun and pour it on the patty. Yes! I’ve been waiting to do this somewhere other than my own kitchen.
If you love something sweet and syrupy, try it my way. It’s a whole lot of sweet. Embrace it. It’s not something you’re going to find very easily. I enjoyed this burger!
@tcfooddude will cover a couple of very good appetizers. There might be a pretty sweet cheese pull involved.
